Some links on SafeTrading’s top lists are affiliate links. If you join a provider through one, we may earn a referral commission. Pages that contain them say so near the top, and the links are marked as sponsored for search engines. Providers cannot pay to appear on a list or to change their position. SafeTrading does not publish sponsored articles or sell paid placements.

SafeTrading earns money, or may in future, through:

• Referral commissions: a provider pays us when a reader follows a link and opens an account, deposits or trades;
• Sponsorship: a business pays to be associated with a page or feature, which would always be labeled;
• Advertising: paid advertisements, shown separately from editorial content.

• A clear label on the page, placed before the relevant link or recommendation, not only in a footer.
• The type of arrangement, such as a commission per new customer or a share of the provider’s revenue.
• A list of active arrangement types on this page.

Earning money from a provider creates a conflict of interest. Some arrangements make it sharper. Under revenue sharing, for example, a publisher’s income can rise with customers’ trading activity, including activity that loses them money.

If SafeTrading mentions or links to a business that shares its ownership, we will state that relationship at that point. We will not present such a business as an independent recommendation or as a service we have independently reviewed.
