3Commas Review 2026

3Commas connects to your exchange account by API key and runs DCA, grid and signal bots, including from TradingView alerts. It is one of the oldest crypto bot platforms. It is also the one whose CEO confirmed, in December 2022, that user API keys posted online had come from its service.

Mixed

3.8

Capable bots and good TradingView integration for experienced crypto traders. The 2022 key leak and slow admission mean you should lock down every API key you connect.

What we like

  • Mature DCA, grid and signal bots with multiple take profits and trailing
  • TradingView webhooks and Pine Script execution on every plan
  • Funds never leave your exchange account
  • Demo account on all plans

Watch out for

  • Confirmed API key leak in December 2022, after earlier denials

  • No free plan on the pricing page; futures start on the $50 plan
  • Homepage repeats growth claims such as "significant portfolio growth"

What 3Commas is

3Commas is web and mobile software that places trades on your own exchange account. You create an API key at the exchange, paste it in or use the Fast Connect flow, and the bots trade through it. 3Commas says it cannot withdraw your funds and that it provides software only.

Its about page names Yuriy Sorokin as CEO and co-founder and lists the head office as 3C Trade Tech Ltd. in the British Virgin Islands. It says it has served traders since 2017. In September 2026 it retired its v1 platform.

Pricing

There are three paid plans. The pricing page shows a start free trial button on each without stating the trial length, and lists no free plan, though the help center says an expired subscription drops back to a free plan. Card payments renew automatically; crypto payments do not.

Bot types and exchanges

The homepage lists Binance, Hyperliquid, Bybit, OKX, Bitget, Gate, Kraken, KuCoin and Coinbase, and the bot menu adds Bitstamp, Bitfinex, HTX and BitMEX. The pricing page says every plan has access to 9 exchanges. Which ones you can legally use depends on where you live.

  • DCA bot: buys in steps with safety orders and takes profit at a target
  • Grid bot: buy and sell ladder inside a range; marketed as an AI grid bot
  • Signal bot: trades from TradingView alerts, Pine Script or webhooks
  • SmartTrade and terminal: manual orders with multiple take profits and stop loss
  • Backtesting and paper trading through the demo account

The 2022 API key leak

In October 2022 FTX and 3Commas said API keys connected to 3Commas had been used for unauthorized trades on FTX. At the time 3Commas said the keys had not come from its systems and pointed to phishing. Users reported similar trades on Binance, KuCoin and Coinbase, which 3Commas then called false rumors.

On December 28, 2022, after an anonymous Twitter user posted about 100,000 API keys and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said he was reasonably sure of widespread leaks, CEO Yuriy Sorokin confirmed the data was genuine. 3Commas asked Binance, KuCoin and other exchanges to revoke all keys connected to its service. It said it found no proof of an inside job. SiliconANGLE reported that a group of traders put their losses at about $22 million; 3Commas did not publish a loss figure.

3Commas now promotes encrypted key storage in what it calls Sign Center, IP whitelisting and Fast Connect. We have not seen an independent audit of those measures.

  • Never enable withdrawals on a key you give 3Commas
  • Whitelist 3Commas IPs at the exchange if offered
  • Use a sub-account with only the bot's capital
  • Rotate keys regularly and after any reported incident

Who 3Commas suits

3Commas suits experienced crypto traders who want DCA or signal bots across several exchanges, especially those who already build alerts in TradingView. It suits beginners less well: the settings are dense, futures need the $50 plan, and you are responsible for securing every key.

Our verdict

The product is capable and the pricing is clear. We mark it down on security and track record: user keys did leak from 3Commas, the company denied it for weeks, and it is an offshore company with no financial license. If you use it, treat each API key as something that could be exposed and limit it so a leak costs as little as possible.

Frequently asked questions

Is 3Commas safe?

Your funds stay at your exchange, and 3Commas says it cannot withdraw them. But in December 2022 its CEO confirmed that user API keys published online came from 3Commas, after unauthorized trades on user accounts. Disable withdrawals and restrict IPs on any key you connect.

How much does 3Commas cost?

Starter is $20 a month, Pro $50 and Expert $140, or $15, $38 and $105 a month billed yearly. Each plan has a free trial button, but the length is not stated on the pricing page.

Does 3Commas have a free plan?

The pricing page lists none. The help center says that when a subscription expires without renewal the account switches to a free plan, so expect very limited features without paying.

What happened with the 3Commas API leak?

Hackers obtained user API keys and used them for trades on exchanges such as FTX in 2022. About 100,000 keys were posted online, and on December 28, 2022 the CEO confirmed the data was genuine and asked exchanges to revoke all 3Commas keys.

Can I use 3Commas in the US?

It connects to US exchanges including Coinbase and Kraken. We could not open its terms of use to confirm whether any US restrictions apply, so check before subscribing. Many of the other exchanges it supports do not accept US residents.

Is 3Commas an AI trading bot?

It markets its grid bot as an AI bot, but its DCA, grid and signal bots run the settings and signals you give them. It does not trade on its own judgment.
